🎵 Mother of Mine: Ancestral Liberation
This 6-minute medicine song is an invitation to heal the lineage of oppressed women behind us - and within us.
As we witness the last vestiges of harsh patriarchy trying to rule our world, it's time to free our ancestral mothers from the constraints they couldn't escape. Not through blame, but through compassionate release.
Allow this song to open a thread of connection to the women who carried immense weight on their shoulders, who couldn't have happy childhoods, who lived restricted lives. Give yourself more than 6 minutes - take an hour, take the day. Let this be a key to unlock your relationship with these ancestors.
When we heal our anger toward the women who "knew not what they did," we free them AND ourselves to be fully empowered now.
This is medicine for the planetary healing of women's voices.

Mother of Mine
I have done a lot of work about my birth mother and why this complex childhood-personal-transformational journey of this lifetime still lingers is a puzzle that I really, really would like to be gone. And I know it's leaving, it's just taking forever. And the way I look at it is - this is a transmutation of lifetimes - not only am I healing from my being, but for eons of ancestrals.
There are an immense amount of oppressed women behind me, below me and all around me in this family lineage. And I get to do the healing for it. I just have to accept that it is not just for me, it is for all of them. And my mother clearly was not willing to be an ancestor, but the funny thing is she really just wanted to be a child again.
So anyway, this is just a little bit of a song-poem-expressive outlet towards the birth mother that I was given in this lifetime.
Song ~ Mother of Mine
Mother, mother, Mah-ther
Mother, mother, Mah-ther.
Why oh why oh why oh why,
inside of my mind I see, inside of my mind I see you
Coming around the bend I see you, your face.
Coming around the bend I see your face...
Why, oh why..
I thought you left me alone, I thought you left me alone.
Now I want you gone, oh now I want you gone.
You left me alone so long ago, and I'm fine with that.
I don't even know who you are, I don't even know.
You don't know.
I don't even know who you are,
You don't know—either.
Child that you are, child that you are.
Child that you are, child that you are.
I see your face coming around the bend,
I see your face coming around the bend...
Mother of mine, I know you are gone.
Mother of mine, I hope you go skip rope.
Mother of mine, I want you to be a happy child.
Mother of mine, find that happy childhood.
It was stolen from you, it was stolen from me.
It was stolen, it was stolen, it was stolen, stolen, it was stolen, it was stolen...
And I ask for it back, I demand it back.
She deserves a childhood, she deserves a childhood.
We all deserve a child... that can live in a hood and be happy with that.
And laugh uproariously, And be as funny as two puppies rolling on the ground, And be as secure and as safe as—two puppies rolling on the ground.
